2004 Champion of Champions Competition

The 2004 Champion of Champion Competition takes place tomorrow (Sunday 1 February) in London.

This is an invitation only event drawn from the major award winners from 2003 and is the most important competition of the year.

There are 20 finalists from 19 producers (Alan Bennett has 2 entries). The producers and the sausages they are entering are:

Alan Bennett, Codsall with Pork and Caramelised Onion & Pork
Broughs Butchers, Southport with Beef Steak, Pork & Ale
LJ Smith, Eastleigh with Traditional Pork
Purely Pynes, Exeter with Plain Pork
Hughes Butchers, Fishguard with Welsh Pork & Asparagus
H Clewlow Butchers, Nantwich with Pork, Orange & Cranberry
Vaughans Family Butchers, Chester with Chorizo Pork
Dobbin Dale Foods, Northern Ireland with Beef
Gregorys Meats, Northern Ireland with Pork

13 out of 19 producers are already included in Specialist producers. The directory will expand to include Ireland in the next few months. In the meantime we will investigate the others and update the directory. Please use our feedback forms to let us have your comments and nominations.
