All you need to do is tell us who you think makes the best sausages. At the end of the summer we will count the votes and announce the new Sausagelinks Top 10.
The Top 10 producers will then be judged in a blind tasting by a panel of sausage experts and the winner crowned as Britain's Best Banger. The judges will include Jimmy Doherty, founder of the Essex Pig Company, award winning journalist Fiona Beckett (author of Sausage & Mash), myself, David Gardner and other sausage fans.
This will be a people's award. The Top 10 will be based on your votes. The sausages entered in the blind tasting will be brought directly from each shop. They will not be a competition batch made with special ingredients and extra care. The sausage we pick will be identical to the sausage that you can buy.
By entering, you register your vote and also enter one of several competitions. We will run various competitions. The first one being 7 copies of Sausage & Mash for the first vote received each day in the first week. We will update the site with new prizes and winners on a regular basis.
At least one lucky reader will win the ultimate sausage lover's day trip. You will be able to pick any region or country in the UK and the team at Sausagelinks will arrange to take you on a guided tour of the finest sausage producers in the region with travel, food, a cool box full of sausages and a behind the scenes visit to one of the areas prominent sausage producers. www.Sausagelinks.co.uk will feature the winners day trip in the Autumn. We are hoping to receive at least 20,000 votes. If we break this we will offer two main prizes.
