2005 National Sausage, Pie & Pasty and Burger Competitions

Vote now!Telford was the scene of frantic activity on 7 & 8 September 2005 as Butchers from across the country submitted sausages, pies and burgers for judging and evaluation.
The last National event was held in 2003 and was won by Elite Meat of Harrogate.
They take sausages seriously in Yorkshire. The 2005 Champion is also from God's Own County and is Hinchliffes Farm Shop of Huddersfield. Hinchcliffes have been serious contenders for several years and have won regular prizes at the Great Yorkshire competition. This is first National award for them and well deserved. Watch out for them in a forthcoming Sausage of the Week.

P Richards of Shropshire for Course Pork.
Allen Bennett won 3 awards for Specialty Pork (Caramalised Onion), Speciality Lamb (Lamb & Apricot) and Speciality Non-Red Meat (Turkey, Shallots & Red Pepper).
David Boyles Butchers won Speciality Beef (Beef, Tomato & Chilli)
The National Pie and Pasty Competition was won by Boxley's of Wombourne.
Walter Smith of Birmingham won the National Burger Competition.
