One of the pioneers of the organic food movement. They have won numerous awards including the Organic Retailer of the year in 2001 and BBC Good Food Magazine Best Organic Mail Order in 2003. As well as meat, they sell a complete range of organic food.
Meat comes from a group of Organic farms in Wales and the Borders. They offer full traceability, this can even goes as far as stating the name of the farm on some of the sausages. I know for instance that my Lamb & Mint sausages (and very tasty too) came from the Wilsonís Farm near Gloucester and from a Suffolk lamb.
They make more than 25 sausage varieties from pork, wild boar, lamb, beef, venison and even goat. A good feature is the ability to buy mail order sausages in either 225g or 450g packs at the same price per kg. Recent sausage awards include a Silver for those Lamb & Mint and a Bronze for Gluten Free Smoky Pork at the 2003 Great Taste Awards.
They offer a efficient mail order service. A good touch was a pre paid label which you can use to return the polystyrene box to them. As well as mail order they also sell through a wide network of independent shops - see website for a full listing.
Tried a few different sorts. The quality is good. The problem for me is that the sausages are too small, almost chipolata size. I would certainly have prefered a meatier banger. Lamb and mint had a good subtle flavour.
