Fairfield Farm shop is located on the A59 between Clitheroe and Preston. Having driven past it several times, I made a spur of the moment decision to stop in. The selection of sausages and friendliness of the owners immediately justified my decision.
They make over 40 varieties of sausage (customers can see the sausages being made) and normally have at least 10 for sale. I asked for a pick n mix. They were all excellent, so much so that the shop is a top contender for a sausagelinks top 10 place. The spicy Italian and peppery Cumberland are superb; the sausages are moist and lose very little fat during cooking.
Pigs are reared on the farm using traditional methods and they are pleased to show the farm to customers. They sell a wide range of home made pork and their gammon recently won the North West Producer of the Year title.
As a customer since 2000 I can heartily recommend them. The bacon is excellent, especially the slipper cut, we also love the Pork & Leek sausages and the cafe.
We bought some sausages and beef when just passing by in the car. What a revelation! The black pudding flavoured sausage was tremendous. The others were pretty damn good too!
