Boyton Farm keep the oldest herd of Tamworth pigs in the country. They have their own butchery and make 7 varieties of sausages. The sausages are meaty; with a high meat content of at least 85%. They contain no preservatives and should be eaten immediately or frozen on the day of purchase.
We tried the Simple Simon sausage which contains no herbs or spices, just salt and pepper. A superb sausage which relies on the high quality of the meat.
They sell direct from the farm, at markets and through the internet. Mail order is through the purchase of large packs (the sausage pack is ?70 for at least 9 kg).
Excellent produce. The loin of pork is the best I''ve ever tasted and produces foolproof crackling with minimal effort. Sausages are excellent and the stewing and braising beef simply melt in the mouth in any recipe. Am also impressed with low amount of wastage on stewing meat - it hardly needs trimming at all.

The sausages are the best I''ve tasted in 40 years. I never go to Wiltshire without getting in a supply of Breakfast Bangers & Simple Simon sausages.
