Popular East Midlands based pork butchers who are now stocked in Waitrose supermarkets nationally. They are actually owned by the same company as Dickinson & Morris. They operate from 7 shops in the East Midlands and also have a good reputation for Pork Pies. They normally offer 4 or 5 different sausage varieties including an Olde English, Plain Pork and the excellent Pork & Leek pictured here. Pork & Tomato sausages are popular in the Midlands and these are worth a trying.
The Olde English is our family favourite - high meat content and very reasonably priced. They are great hot, cold, grilled, fried, whatever. We always pay a visit when we are home.
I was saddened to note that the Leicestershire pork pie contains ''traditional'' hydrogenated vegetable oil.
I have bought Walkers sausages for as long as I can remember. No other has been good enough. Please though reduce the size back to around 8 to a lb. For my grandchildren two of this new size is too much and 1 would not be looked on favourable giving them just one. I also find it too expensive to have sausages of this size for nine of us. A joint of meat is cheaper. If it is to be only six to a lb now it will be second best for us from now on!
