Simply Sausages are traditional sausage makers based near Smithfield market in London. They have a large catering arm and also sell sausages from the shop at Harts Corner.

This must be one of the greenest sausages you can buy. The colour comes from the generous amount of spinach which is combined with at least 82% meat from belly and shoulder, egg, seasoning and raspberry vinegar!

We slowly fried ours for 30 minutes. When cooked, they kept the green colour, shrinkage was minimal and they left very little fat in the pan. The spinach taste comes through, the spinach also makes for a succulent sausage which is good cold. They have a nice texture but a small criticism is that some may feel they are slightly under seasoned.

They cost 7.25 per kilo. Not a breakfast sausage but recommended for anyone wanting to add a bit of colour or who is entertaining Popeye!
