Vote now!The ultimate book for the sausage fan is in the shops now (October 2004). Sausage & Mash is written by food writer Fiona Beckett. The glossy book contains over 200 recipes and beautiful pictures. It contains short guides to sausages, cooking them, international sausages and what to drink with them.
Fiona also mentions a certain sausage website - "for more leads on good sausages log onto the excellent www.sausagelinks.co.uk".
The meat of the book is recipes for cooking with sausages, accompaniments and sauces. Recipes include all the standards - mash, toad in the hole, cassoulet etc. New recipes include Chinese style sausages with stir fried greens, Quick garlic and fennel sausage pizza, Chorizo and butter bean stew and lots of ideas for hot dogs.
There is a short section on buying sausages. All of her choices are listed in sausagelinks (and no, we didn't add any just before submitting this article!) and includes 5 of our Top 10 sausage producers (great minds think alike!).
