Readers of this site will know what are we think about cheap sausages, e.g they are

A Rubbish food.
B Pumped full of chemicals, colourings and other nasties.
C Bad value for money.

This has all been confirmed by a survey carried out by the University of Wales. This research analysed the cheapest supermarket sausage to find out how much real meat they contain. Tesco had the highest amount of connective tissue (the trade definition of meat) at 24%, Sainsbury's were fairly similar at 22%. The Asda sausage had 10% connective tissue and Morrisons had the lowest amount at 7.5%.

The BBC article says it all when it notes that premium dog food costs twice as much as the cheapest sausages!
